Easy Steak Fajitas - Crock pot or stove top

Easy Steak Fajitas - (crock pot or stove top)
2 packs of fajitas mix (I used the kroger brand)

2 pounds of steak.   Cut into fajita bite size pieces (this week kroger had the meat on sale already cut up for .20 more, so I saved myself the time and bought the meat that was already cut)

1 pkg. of frozen 3 pepper blend with onions.

1 pkg. of brown rice (boil for 10 minutes)

1 pkg. of soft flour tortillas ( I used whole wheat)

1 pkg. of shredded cheddar cheese

Put meat in a gallon size ziplock baggie

Mix 2 pkgs of fajita seasoning mix.  Follow directions on the back.  It also call for vegetable oil.  I used 1 tablespoon instead of 2.  Water also.

Pour the fajita mix over the meat and seal the bag.  Squish the bag up to mix and coat all the meat.

You have 2 options next.
1.   Put it in the fridge and marinate overnight.  Cook the next day.
2.   Put in the freezer for a crock pot meal at a later date.

When you decide to use the meal, heat your peppers on the top of the stove, and boil the rice.

If you have time, and want to do the crock pot method,  put meat in a sprayed crock pot for 4 to 5 hours on low.

If you are doing stove top, cook while your peppers and rice are cooking.

*  My children do not like peppers, so I do not mix them with the meat, I put them on my meal but not the kids.

Also - I sometimes prepare meals on Sunday nights, even if it is just assembling them to cook later in the week, as this saves time during the busy weeknights.
